- Description
- ECO is a bibliographic database that indexes more than 5,000 academic and professional
journals in
the fields of: agriculture, anthropology, business, economics, education, fine arts, geography,
history, language, law, library science, literature, medicine, philosophy, political science,
psychology, science, social science, and technology.
The database offers basic, advanced, and expert search options, and includes search history. When
using the advanced or expert options, searches can be limited to those publications that are listed
as being subscribed to by the Rutgers University Libraries.
The journal list may be browsed alphabetically by title, by publisher, or by broad subject
categories based on the Library of Congress call number scheme.

- A help button is available from every search and results screen. Search tips appear at the top of
each screen unless the "Hide Tips" option is selected.

- Dates covered
- Most journals date from the 1990s forward, but the earliest date of coverage is 1941.
- Updating frequency
- Daily.
- Sources
- Scholarly journals.
- Type of coverage
- Indexing with citations only. Citations to journals owned by the Rutgers Libraries indicate that the
institution subscribes to those publications.
