- The Foundation Directory Online (Professional) provides information on more than 100,000
foundations, corporate giving programs, and grant making public charities in the US. It also
includes searchable databases of recently awarded grants, sponsoring companies, and recently filed
IRS information returns (Forms 990 and 990-PF). All four databases, as well as the Foundation
Center's philanthropy news, nonprofit jobs, RFPs, foundation publications, and nonprofit literature
databases, can be searched simultaneously.

- Help is available as a link in the upper right corner of the database
screen. Options include a search tutorial and guided tours of the Foundation
Directory Online (Professional)'s individual databases.

- Users can sign up to receive e-mail alerts.

- 1999 to the present.

- Grant maker information is updated weekly. News, requests for proposal, publications, and articles
are added daily.

- Information is obtained from more than 35 sources including IRS returns (Forms 990 and 990-PF),
grant makers' websites, annual reports, and printed application guidelines.

- Full-text records about grant makers including their purpose and activities, fields of interest,
