- Description
- This is a collection of 1237 large-scale maps of 265 New Jersey cities. The maps include
information such as the outline of each building, the size, shape and construction materials,
heights, and location of windows and doors. Textual information on the maps includes construction
details, building use and ownership. The Sanborn Map Company was the primary American publisher of
fire insurance maps for nearly 100 years, and the digital collection is searchable by city and
date. The black and white digital images were produced from a microform of the Sanborn atlases
in the Library of Congress collection. See here for more information.
