ScienceDirect, the full-text sciences periodicals database from Elsevier, contains over 25% of the world's science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information. More than 2,500 journals are available on ScienceDirect and Rutgers University Libraries subscribe to over 1,500 of these titles.

Users can access full-text articles as well as abstract records from all fields of science. Most journal articles become available immediately after peer review and before the printed versions are issued. Additionally, they gain online access to multimedia features not available in print journals, such as video, audio and spreadsheet files. Varies by title. Most full text begins in 1995. For the following subject areas, Economics, High Energy Nuclear Physics and Astronomy, and Mathematics, coverage goes back to the first volume of each journal.

Print Counterpart or related resources

There is no index counterpart. Elsevier's individual journals are also published in paper format, and IRIS lists those available at Rutgers.
