In order to streamline the delivery of video from the Visual History Archive, Rutgers maintains a cache (or local copy) of select interviews. These selected videos are noted as "viewable now," while all others are "viewable within 48 hours." As new videos are downloaded from the archive, videos that are accessed infrequently are removed from the cache to make space. These infrequently accessed videos are not gone forever, they simply revert back to "viewable within 48 hours." There are situations when infrequently accessed videos need to be protected from this automatic removal, such as class reserves and long-term research projects. Please use the form below to request that one video or one shared project (a list of multiple videos) be locked, protecting it from removal for a specified time.
Access to restricted resources from off-campus is intermittently unavailable. The Libraries' Integrated Information Systems and the Rutgers Network Operations Center are working to resolve the issue.
