Description

Cochrane Library is a collection of evidence-based clinical information for healthcare providers. The primary resource, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR), contains systemic reviews, protocols, editorials, and supplements. Each systematic review has been prepared and supervised by a Cochrane Review Group (editorial team) of expert clinicians. Each review attempts to identify, appraise and synthesize all the empirical evidence that meets pre-specified eligibility criteria to answer a specific research question. Reviews assess a wide range of topics of interest to clinicians, including interventions, diagnostic test accuracy, methodology, qualitative evidence, and prognoses.

Cochrane Library also includes the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, a directory of randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials found in scholarly literature. For each trial, it includes the citation, indexing, and often, an abstract. It does not contain the full text of the article.

Cochrane Library also includes Cochrane Clinical Answers. Each contains a clinical question, a short answer, and data drawn from a Cochrane Review. They allow clinicians to quickly obtain evidence-based information from Cochrane Reviews to use in point-of-care decision-making.
