Description

DARE (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects), located on the University of York Centre for Reviews and Dissemination platform, is an index of over 35,000 systematic reviews of health and social care interventions. These reviews evaluate the effects of health and social care interventions and the delivery and organization of health and social care services. It also indexes reviews of the wider determinants of health, such as housing and transport, in cases where these impact health or have the potential to impact health and wellbeing.

DARE does not contain the full text of reviews; rather, it contains indexing, citations, and abstracts for reviews. In some cases, it includes a link to the original review. These links have not been configured for Rutgers access.

The U.K. Department of Health and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded the production of DARE between 1994 and March 2015. The DARE records produced during this time are also available in many other health sciences databases, including PubMed. The DARE database has not been updated since March 2015.
