UBorrow from the Big Ten
Rutgers University students, faculty, and staff can now borrow books from the universities of the Big Ten Conference plus the University of Chicago.
Rutgers joined the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), the academic counterpart of the Big Ten athletic league in July. The Libraries soon after began preparing to participate in UBorrow, the CIC's consortial borrowing service.
UBorrow provides access to more than 90 million volumes from the circulating collection of 14 major research libraries: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Indiana University, University of Iowa, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Penn State University, Purdue University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Center for Research Libraries.
The UBorrow search interface works very much like E-ZBorrow, the request interface works like interlibrary loan. Whenever you need an item that is currently unavailable or not owned by Rutgers and you've looked on E-ZBorrow, try UBorrow and place a request directly for delivery to your pickup library.
You will find UBorrow on the libraries website under "Find > Books" and "Services & Tools > Borrow/Request/Renew." For more detailed information visit our UBorrow guide.
