ComAbstracts is part of a system of electronic databases and textual and research resources provided by the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship, a not for profit organization. It contains abstracts of articles and books published in the professional literature of the communication field and covers over one hundred journals. Records may be searched by word, phrase, author, or publication.

Topics covered include:
advertising, artificial intelligence, audiovisual media, censorship, communication law, communication technology, communication theory, game theory, health communication, information technology, interactive media, intercultural and international relations, interpersonal communication, journalism, language, marketing, mass media, movies, music, photography, photojournalism, public policy, public relations, radio, rhetoric, semiotics, telecommunication, television, and video games.
