ACLS Humanities E-Book

A growing collection of more than 3,600 titles (as of July 2013) across the entire range of the Humanities, including Area Studies, Art, Film & Media Studies, History, Literature, Performance Studies, Philosophy, Religion, and Women Studies. All titles have been chosen by scholars rather than publishers, so while titles from more than one hundred publishers (among them Cambridge UP, Columbia UP, Harvard UP, MIT Press, NYU Press, Oxford UP, Princeton UP, Rutgers UP, Stanford UP, plus other academic, commercial and society presses) are included, it is a selective rather than comprehensive collection. The collection combines classic works and new scholarship. The titles are available for unlimited course reserve or classroom use.

While the bulk of the collection comprises print books later scanned and available as page images, there is also a small but growing collection of XML books-"born digital" works with additional features (links to additional resources, enlargeable images).

Browsable by author, subject, and title; Searching by keyword or phrase across entire collection, including Boolean and proximity. Downloading and printing are governed by fair-use rights, and generally limited to three-page sections. Citations can be saved for e-mailing or downloading, but only for the duration of a search session. Does not appear to support exporting to bibliographic management software like RefWorks or Zotero. Complete bibliographic records will be loaded into the library catalog, allowing full discoverability from catalog searches.
