Diversity Advisory Committee on Diversity:
History In 1995, responding to a statement by the Board of Governors of Rutgers University and instructions from President Lawrence to all departments regarding investigating multicultural life and diversity, University librarian Frank Polach requested a study of diversity environment at Rutgers libraries on the New Brunswick campus. The Committee on Multicultural life (chaired by Kevin Mulcahy) was created to conduct this comprehensive study and make recommendations for the libraries. See Multicultural Life Committee Report. For furthering understanding and promotion of multicultarism, one of the primary recommendations of this committee included setting up an Advisory Committee on Diversity for the libraries
