The Alumni Library Card

Apply for an alumni library card at the circulation desk of any Rutgers library. You will need to bring your Rutgers Alumni Card and a photo ID for identification. If you are a recent graduate and have not yet received your Rutgers Alumni Card in the mail, a photo ID is sufficient identification for one year after your graduation date.

Library staff will issue you a library card, barcode, and PIN. You can use the library card to check out up to twenty-five books for a four-week loan period from any Rutgers University library (except for the law libraries in Camden and Newark). Use your barcode and PIN to access the "MY ACCOUNT" features in the Library Catalog, where you can view a list of the books you have checked out and renew your books yourself online.

Alumni library cards are good for one year and need to be renewed annually.
