Ask a Librarian / FAQs:
Changing Your Cache Settings in Netscape
  1. Netscape 3x: Click on the "View" item in the toolbar menu. Then, select "Preferences" at the bottom of the drop down menu. This will bring up the Netscape Preferences Menu.
  1. Netscape 4x and 6x: Click on the "Edit" item in the toolbar menu. Then, select "Preferences" at the bottom of the drop down menu. This will bring up the Netscape Preferences Menu
  1. Under the left column, entitled "Category", expand "Advanced", and select "Cache".
  1. Where it says "Document in cache is compared to document in network," choose the option "Once per session."

In general, having pages in cache compared "Once Per Session" is preferable for using ALL web sites and web-accessible databases, not just IRIS.
