Moving Image Collections (MIC)

"A window to the world's moving image resources"

MIC is an NSF funded project to create a union catalog of significant science collections, to immerse moving images into the science education experience. MIC is being developed by Rutgers University Libraries, Advanced Systems Technologies Computing & Communications at the University of Washington and the Interactive Media Technology Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

A portal-"Science Goes to the Movies" will enable science educators from pre-school through university and graduate school to discover and use moving images to enhance the education experience.

MIC is a participant of the NSF-sponsored National SMETE digital library -" a dynamic online library and portal of services by the SMETE Open Federation for teachers and students."

MIC integrates a directory of organizations collecting moving images with a union catalog of their moving image resources to support discovery and retrieval of moving images in digital and analog form.
