Registering with the Rutgers Libraries

Rutgers students, faculty, and staff must register with the Rutgers University Libraries in order to

• Borrow books
• Use Rutgers Request or Interlibrary Loan services
• Use your IRIS "MY ACCOUNT" to renew books or check your library record and messages.

To register you will need to supply your barcode (if available) and be issued a PIN.

Barcode: The 14-digit number beginning with '29030' or '25145' found on the back of your Rutgers ID or RUConnection Card.

PIN: A four-digit personal identification number issued by the Libraries.

You can register your barcode or get a PIN immediately by stopping at or calling and speaking to someone at a Rutgers Library Circulation Desk.

Or, you can submit a request to a team of Rutgers Libraries staff by filling out the form below. You will normally receive registration confirmation/a new PIN within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

Your Barcode Leave blank if you do not have a barcode.
Your RUID (or SSN if you are faculty/staff or guest)
