Provider Description:
OmniFile Full Text Mega: Art is a bibliographic database that indexes
articles from art periodicals published throughout the world. Periodical coverage includes
English-language periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletins, as well as periodicals published
in French, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish. In addition to articles,
this database indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals.
Additional Description
OmniFile Full Text Mega: Art is a crucial source for research on all periods of art, art
history, and architectural history broadly defined, including stylistic periods and movements
and individual artists throughout the history of art from the ancient period through the
present day. At the main search screen check the box for OmniFile Full Text Mega in the yellow
bar at the top of the screen. A subject area box will appear. In this box, highlight Art (ART).
Enter your search terms in the "Search For:" box then click "Start." Results are returned in
the following format:
Author. Article Title. Periodical Title. Volume, issue. (Date) pages.
Click on the article title to be led to the complete citation, including abstract. If the
article is available in full text in the database, clicking on the blue highlighted box will
lead to the full text of the article.
If the article is not available in full-text in the
database, click on "Article Linker" to conduct an IRIS search for the article within the Rutgers
University Libraries. At the next screen, click on "Search the ISSN of this title in IRIS." The
IRIS record for the periodical will indicate if the Libraries own the periodical in paper
and/or electronic format.
