Description

ARTFL is a collaboration between the University of Chicago and the Analyse et Traitement
Informatique de la Langue Française. It is a full text database containing a number of
modules. The following modules are available through Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
Additional modules are open to the general public.
The following sample modules are useful for the study of French Language and Literatur:
- Encyclopédie de Diderot et Supplément à l'Encyclopédie
The famous Enlightenment Encyclopedia, and its supplement, published originally under the direction of Diderot and d'Alambert.
- FRANTEXT
FRANTEXT is the main ARTFL database containing the full text of well-known works in the French language published between the medieval and modern periods. Most of the texts date between the 18th and 20th centuries.
- French Women Writers
Texts of women writers between the 16th and 19th centuries.
- Provençale Poetry
Collections from the 12th and 13th centuries.
- A number of the editions of the Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française available for full-text searching.
