Description   Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) is the premier resource for all aspects of food science including biotechnology, food safety, functional and novel foods, food additives, nutrition, and packaging. The database is international in scope and covers over 1800 resources on food science such as journals, books, and conference proceedings.

FSTA provides for quick searching of keywords from the titles and abstracts or advanced searching which is for searches of FSTA subject headings and the ability to combine search statements.

A three year subscription to FSTA Direct is supported through a USDA/CREES Higher Education Challenge Grant.

Sources   Journals, books, conference proceedings, reports, theses, patents, standards, and legislation.

Type of coverage   Indexing with abstracts, plus full-text of most patents indexed. The FSTA Dictionary contains the subject headings used.
