Description		Zephyr is a comprehensive record of the corporate "deal": corporate mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and venture capital deals. Deals that are completed, pending, withdrawn, announced, or rumoured are included. Over 100 search criteria allow deals to be searched not only by company, industry, and date, but also by deal structure, deal type, deal status, and many financial criteria. Search results can be exported in Excel, Word, and ASCII formats. Using the Analysis Tab, search results can be tabulated, sorted, and graphed according to a number of criteria.
Dates covered		From 1997 forward for European deals. From 2000 forward for North American deals. Global coverage begins in 2003.
Updating frequency		Continuous.
Sources		Bureau Van Dijk's Zephus database and other corporate records. Zephyr's researchers translate information from 16 languages to create the deal information.
Type of coverage		The primary content is the deal record, which describes the acquiring and target companies, along with descriptive information about the deal itself. Additional features provide news, rankings, and tables about deal activity. As of July 2007, the database contained information on over 500,000 deals, with approximately 100,000 being added annually.
