John Cotton Dana Library
Artwork The Dana Library was able to acquire eleven works of art by eight artists in 1994 through a program sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts in support of public art in conjunction with the expansion and renovation of the Dana facility. Artists in the Dana collections at that time included Martin W. Ball, Cicely Cottingham, Michael Fauerbach, Robert Kogge, William L. Phipps, Debra Weier, Alison Weld, and William T. Williams. The complete list is on the Walking Tour of public art in the library. Since then, nine new works of art were acquired, for the most part as gifts. The new artwork includes work by the abstract expressionist Norman Carton and New York artist/sculptor Stella Waitzkin, three African masks and a figure, and a miniature book.
