As you can see by the fence around the Dana Library, something's up. And it is up above -- the roof is getting a makeover. Please bear with us for a couple of months while the work continues. In the meantime, for your safety, please observe all posted signs.
During the summer, there have been changes inside, as well, to enhance the user experience: more than 7,500 energy-efficient light fixtures have been installed everywhere. Dana was one of five buildings on the Newark campus to have lighting upgraded for enhanced energy efficiency.
Also, now there's free wifi (with your NetID login) throughout the building, courtesy of student computing fee monies. And if your laptop has no wireless card, you can borrow one from the Circulation Desk. Starting this week, you can also borrow a CD or DVD for three days from the Media Center on the 4th Floor.
Campus Computing Services upgraded all of the PCs in the computer labs on the 1st and 4th Floors, and instituted new printing arrangements. The reference area also has six library computers available for students (including three new Macs), and you can send print jobs directly to the lab printers.
On the South Wing of the 1st Floor, we replaced carpeting, took out some book shelves, and put in new seating and tables. This work is also ongoing as we expect more furniture to be replaced soon. And, next week, the 1st Floor restrooms will be re-opened after being renovated, with new tile and fixtures.
