Welcome Back to the Dana Library!
Looking for a power outlet for your laptop, tablet, cell phone, and pager? Outlets are easier to find now that we have doubled the number available throughout the building. We have also moved or placed some new furniture close to the new electrical outlets for your convenience. Look for these outlets on the Lower Level between the two wings and by the microfilm cabinets, on the First Floor in the Quiet Area in the South Wing, on the Second Floor between the two wings.
In the Copy Room on the First Floor, we have three flatbed book and document scanners that will allow files to be saved to an USB drive or sent to an email account. One scanner will even accomodate originals up to 11" x 17".
We are currently honoring faculty authors with a display in the Lobby of recently published books, including one by archivist Tad Hershorn of the Institute of Jazz Studies: Norman Granz: The Man Who Used Jazz for Justice (University of California Press).
New online databases acquired by the Libraries include the following:
What else can you look forward to? The popular series of workshops on statistical software resume next week. LCD TVs are being installed in the four study rooms on the Fourth Floor, and these TVs will support both video playback and laptop connections. And, the Institute of Jazz Studies will continue its Newark Jazz Legacy Concert Series on March 27 with Carrie Jackson's Salute to Sarah Vaughan.
