An alcove in the Douglass Library honors the memory of Mrs. Mabel Smith Douglass, who led the State Federation of Women's Clubs in its drive to establish the New Jersey College for Women in 1918 and who served as the first dean. Shown in the alcove are Madeline Schetty, President of the Class of 1927, Rutgers' President Mason Gross, and Dean Margery S. Foster, June 25, 1968.
