Elizabeth and Alexis Ferm were anarchists and single-taxers. They met in 1897 and discovered they shared a passion for these and other issues, including temperance and women's rights. Alexis Ferm worked for three different newspapers in the 1890s. Above, he is sitting at his desk at the New York Times (1895).
