Institute of Jazz Studies website wins new award

Congratulations to the Institute of Jazz Studies, whose 'Once More Once': A Centennial Celebration of the Life and Music of Count Basie website received a Silver Web Award from World Wide Web Awards earlier this semester. The website was commended by the award association for its outstanding design, interesting content, user-friendliness, and easy navigation.

The Count Basie website, part of the Institute of Jazz Studies' Digital Jazz Greats series of websites, is based on archival materials at the Institute and other collections. The Count Basie website received recognition earlier this year from Jazz Times magazine, which identified the site as a highlight in the celebration of Count Basie's centennial year and commented that IJS "outdid everybody with its website."

The Libraries are grateful to Tad Hershorn and Edwin Vitery of the Institute of Jazz Studies for their creative work in designing this website.
