Explore diversity issues with Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble:
Tues. June 10th; 9:30 am or 1:30 pm
The next program in the Libraries' 2008 Diversity Education Initiative will be an interactive presentation by the Cornell
Interactive Theatre Ensemble, Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in the Pane Room, on the first floor of Alexander Library. There will
be two performances: one from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and the second from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
The Ensemble's program begins with a brief staged scenario on a diversity issue performed by the Ensemble's professional
actors. Following the scenario will be a lively interactive discussion between the scenario's characters and audience
members led by CITE's skilled facilitator. By staying in character after the scenario is over, the actors provide an
unexpected and enlightening perspective on the issue at hand. As the discussion unfolds, the audience and facilitator
explore the short and long-term effects of the scenario within the context of their own work environment. Interactive
theatre, by combining live performance and audience participation, helps people explore sensitive issues in a
nonthreatening atmosphere.
To register for either the morning program (9:30 am to 11:30 am) or the afternoon program (1:30 pm to 3:30 pm), please send
an email to Marilyn Wilt at

Registration deadline is Friday, June 6.
