Assembling bibliographies gets easier, with Zotero
The Libraries are pleased to offer faculty and students another tool to save time in their research.
Zotero, an open source extension of the popular Firefox web browser, allows users to pull citation data from a journal article or book listing in a Libraries catalog. Zotero automatically pulls title, author/publisher, publication, pages, and other information and can arrange the data in a variety of citation styles.
In the past Zotero was not fully compatible with IRIS, the Libraries online catalog, and thus did not extract much of the information users would need to compile their bibliographies. Through the recent efforts of the Libraries' Web Services Group, the Libraries added a program to the website which now allows Zotero to 'translate' information from IRIS without a glitch.
