Libraries Help Keep Your Laptop Secure
The Libraries are committed to providing a safe and studious environment for members of the Rutgers
community as well as the general public. In order to help library patrons better secure their
laptops and other mobile equipment, the Alexander and Kilmer libraries have recently installed lock
anchors for laptop security cables. The laptop lock anchors are securely affixed to tables and
carrels throughout the first floor of the Alexander Library, as well as many of the second-floor
study carrels in the Kilmer Library.
While using your laptop security cable with our laptop lock anchor provides some protection, please
keep in mind that leaving any property unattended can lead to opportunistic theft. To further
safeguard yourself and your property , bring your belongings with you when you leave your study
space or ask a trusted friend to be your "laptop buddy." Please keep in mind that all are welcome
in the Rutgers Libraries, and you should safeguard your property as you would in any other public
location.
