Author talk & book signing - "The Magic of Louis Armstrong's Later Years":
Tues. Sept. 20th
Members of the Rutgers community and the general public are invited to a free talk and book signing
by the author of "What a Wonderful World: The Magic of Louis Armstrong's Later Years" on Tuesday
September 20th.
The event will be held in the Dana Room, on the 4th floor of the John Cotton Dana Library, on the
Rutgers-Newark campus. The event begin with a reception at 5:00 p.m. and a program at 6:00 p.m.
Author Ricky Riccardi RC'04, GSN'05, an alumnus of Rutgers MA in Jazz History and Research program
and the archivist of the Louis Armstrong House Museum, will discuss his recent book and share images
of Louis Armstrong from the Museum archives. Mr. Riccardi's book covers the last 25 years of this
beloved and well-known musician's life. The evening will include a performance by Marty Napoleon,
pianist for Louis Armstrong, and trumpeter and Armstrong expert Randy Sandke. Books will be
available for purchase.
This event is cosponsored by the Rutgers-Newark Alumni Association and the John Cotton Dana Library.
