Libraries host 'Welcome!' events in first week of semester

As part of the university's Scarlet Knight Days series of events to welcome first year and transfer students, the Libraries have planned events on all four campuses in New Brunswick/Piscataway during the first week of September. We invite all students to join us for one or more of these fun activities.

BUSCH - Tuesday, September 4th

Library of Science & Medicine, 2:00 - 4:00 pm
What would you look like as a cartoon character? Drop by the library and let an experienced caricature artist create a quick sketch of you. The results will amuse you and can be a creative Facebook profile photo, a fun dorm room decoration, and/or something to share with friends & family.

COOK/DOUGLASS - Wednesday, September 5th

Mabel Smith Douglass Library, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Open Mic Night! We provide the equipment, you supply the talent. Come to the Douglass Library, express yourself, and meet fellow creative students. Poetry, music, dance, theater, spoken word are all welcome at this informal gathering. Bring a friend with a video-camera and get your YouTube career started now!

LIVINGSTON - Thursday, September 6th

Kilmer Library, 2:00 - 4:00 pm

COLLEGE AVE. - Friday, September 7th

Alexander Library, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Grand re-opening of The Scarlet Latte cafe, on the lower level of the Alexander Library. Get acquainted with one of the most comfortable and convenient coffee/tea/hot & cold beverage/snack spots on campus, located in the flagship library on the College Ave. campus. Enjoy live music, get great food and drinks, win prizes, and more!!!

Art Library, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Finding it a challenge to find you way around the university? Join us for Navigating Rutgers 101, an informal event to help students with directions and any other information they need in their first week of classes. Drop by for free maps, water, basic library information, and answers to your questions.
