Libraries increase hours, again

The Libraries' hours before and during finals got even better.

Responding to a request from President Barchi for increased hours, the Rutgers University Libraries have expanded the hours of the four large library buildings on the New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses as follows:

> Alexander Library - now open 24 hours a day, beginning Monday, May 6th at 8:00 am - Tuesday May 14th
-the entire building will be open including the undergraduate, graduate, and reference rooms, computer lab, East Asian Library, and book and periodical stacks. Limited services- book checkout, holds pickup, and course reserves - will be available
- this change represents an addition of 18 hours on Friday and Saturday nights, above the increased hours previously announced.

> Library of Science and Medicine (LSM), Busch campus - now open 24 hours a day, beginning Monday, May 6th at 8:00 am - Tuesday May 14th
- the entire building will be open including all study areas on the first, second, and third floors; and the computer lab on the second floor. Limited services-book checkout, holds pickup, and course reserves - will be available
- this change represents an addition of 18 hours on Friday and Saturday nights, above the increased hours previously announced.

> Mabel Smith Douglass Library, Douglass campus, and Kilmer Library, Livingston campus, now open on the weekends as follows;

Friday, May 3rd 8:00 am - Midnight
Saturday, May 4th 9:00 am - Midnight
Sunday, May 5th9:00 am - 2:00 am
Friday, May 10th 8:00 am - 2:00 am
Saturday, May 11th 9:00 am - 2:00 am
Sunday, May 12th 9:00 am - 2:00 am
-the entire libraries will be open including the computer labs.
-this represents an increase of 17 hours on weekends at each library

The Scarlet Latte cafe, on the lower level of Alexander Library, will also offer increased hours during reading days and finals. The cafe's hours during this period will be:

Mon May 6th, 9:00 am -10:00 pm -Last day of classes
Tue May 7th,9:00 am -10:00 pm -Reading day
Wed May 8th,9:00 am -12:00 am -Reading day
Thur May 9th,9:00 am -12:00 am -First exam day
Fri May 10th- Closed
Sat May 11th- Closed
Sun May 12th,5:00 - 10:00 pm
Mon May 13th,9:00 am -12:00 am
Tue May 14th,9:00 am -12:00 am
