Fee Increases - July 1st Rutgers University Libraries has just completed a comprehensive review of overdue charges, fees, and average replacement costs of materials. Due to the increased cost of academic book publishing since 1991-92 when fees were last updated, the average replacement cost of an RUL book is now $60.00. The market price of an in-print book will continue to be assessed at time of payment. The cost of cataloging and processing a book to add to our collections is now $42.00 per item. Therefore, borrowers will be billed an average replacement and processing fee of $102.00 per lost book beginning July 1, 1999. The fee for Rutgers Request Service (RRS) photocopy requests filled among the libraries in New Brunswick/Piscataway, excluding requests filled from the Library Annex collection, will increase from $2 to $3 as well. RUL's updated Charge/Fee Schedule is available at the circulation desk of any Rutgers library. | ||||
