NEW tool for searching archives online
The Rutgers University Libraries are pleased to now offer our users a tool for searching archives at 43 major government and educational institutions in the United States and Great Britain. That tool is Archival Resources.
Archival Resources was developed by the Research Libraries Group (RLG), an international not-for-profit membership corporation devoted to the mission of "improving access to information that supports research and learning." Archival Resources provides centralized access for searching and retrieval of archival finding aids. Finding aids are tools for navigation within archival collections, and contain detailed information about the collections. Finding aids can also contain links to actual archival materials that have been digitized. Archival Resources also includes access to RLG's Archival and Mixed Collections file (AMC). AMC provides researchers with timely and comprehensive access to brief, high-level information for nearly half a million collections of manuscripts and archives.
Archival Resources is located on the 'Library Catalogs' page, accessible from the main page on the Libraries' website.
