NEW RESOURCE! The Music Index

Students and scholars of music, as well as some ardent fans, may burst out in songs of praise to the Rutgers University Libraries when they see our latest online acquisition - The Music Index.

The Music Index is a subject and author guide to music periodical literature, indexing 640 international music periodicals from 1979-1998. Topics concerned with every aspect of the classical and popular world of music are categorized and organized according to the framework of an internal subject heading list. A broad range of subjects are indexed, covering musicological or organological topics, plus book reviews, record reviews, first performances, and obituaries.

The Music Index may be accessed from IRIS. It may also be accessed from the Indexes webpage, by selecting 'Arts & Humanities' then selecting 'Music.'
