Reception for the Opening of the “Celebrating the Tradition: Thirty Years of Lesbian and Gay Activism at Rutgers” Exhibit

The Friends of the Rutgers University Libraries invites members of the community to a reception to honor the opening of the exhibit “Celebrating the Tradition: Thirty Years of Lesbian and Gay Activism at Rutgers.”

The exhibit, in the galleries of Special Collections and University Archives in Alexander Library, documents the development, organization, and increased visibility of the gay and lesbian community at Rutgers. The exhibit coverage ranges from the first organizational meeting to the most recent advocacy for health and insurance benefits for same sex partners.

This exhibit is part of a year long celebration of lesbian and gay activism at Rutgers, which has included scholarly presentations, lectures, performances, and other activities on all Rutgers campuses.

To RSVP, call 732/932-7505 or send email to hglazer@rci.rutgers.edu.
