Joint Symposium w/Nordic Libraries'; Jan 18th

On January 18th, (9:45 am - 4:00 pm), a delegation of 43 librarians from the Nordic library world will participate in a jointly sponsored symposium on Electronic Reference Services at the Rutgers University Libraries. The symposium will be held in the Scholarly Communication Center of the Alexander Library, located at 169 College Avenue, New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Participants from the academic and public sectors include leaders in National, Medical, and Business Libraries; the Swedish Library Association; and the Broadcasting Services. Many of the participants are specialists in the areas of reference and interlibrary loan services. Among this esteemed delegation will be Mrs. Joneta Belfrage, President the newly formed Swedish Library Association, the merger of the Association of Swedish University and Research Libraries. Led by Ms. Annsofie Oscarsson, Head of Reference at Sweden's Umea University Library, the delegation will join Rutgers Librarians in addressing key issues of "real-time" reference services, interlibrary services, and electronic reserves.
