Ingenta Document Delivery Now Available

The Libraries are pleased to announce that the Ingenta document delivery service (formerly UnCover Document Delivery) is now operational. This far-reaching Libraries service, which provides Rutgers users with the capability of ordering journal articles needed for research or study, experienced interruptions in service in the late spring and summer when the Ingenta company merged with UnCover. Now users can access the Rutgers Ingenta gateway by clicking on "Ingenta" in the "Indexes and Databases" list on the Libraries' website.

Existing UnCover user ids and passwords, accounts, and Reveal profiles were migrated to the new system. See the "About This Site" web page, available as a link from the main Rutgers Ingenta gateway screen, for instructions on logging in.

Rutgers University graduate students, faculty, and staff can place subsidized orders for articles that are not available from the University Libraries and that they need for research and/or instruction. The Libraries will subsidize these orders up to a limit of $35/article. The Libraries block subsidized article ordering based on title matches with our current serial subscription titles; we do not block at the volume/date holdings level.

First-time users will only be able to log in for subsidized article ordering if they were registered and had a barcode on file with the Libraries as of May 1, 2001. The Libraries will send an updated patron and serial file to Ingenta the middle of September.

User inquiries about their UnCover ids and passwords can be directed to Ingenta help at ushelp@ingenta.com. Users' questions about searching the Ingenta database can be sent to the 'Ask a Librarian' service, accessible from the frontpage of the Rutgers University Libraries website.
