Taiwan Today: Contemporary Photography & Cinematography
The Rutgers community and general public are invited to attend the opening of the exhibition: Taiwan Today: Contemporary Photography & Cinematography, Thursday September 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the SCC. This travelling exhibition of photographs of contemporary Taiwan, which has also been shown at Columbia and Syracuse universities, will be on display in the East Asian Library and in Gallery '50 in the Alexander Library until November 21, 2001. The exhibition is curated and sponsored by the Information Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, and is co-sponsored by the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures, the Asian American Cultural Center, Special Collections and University Archives, the East Asian Library, and the International Film Club, Rutgers University.
The opening will feature the screening of two short documentary films about Taiwan, and catered refreshments. The exhibition is in conjunction with the screening of four rarely seen feature films from Taiwan by the Rutgers International Film Club.
