Pilot Project: Librarians Without Borders, at Busch Campus Center

In an effort to provide research services and support to students beyond library settings, the Rutgers University Libraries in New Brunswick have set up a virtual library outpost at the Busch Campus Center (BCC) as a pilot project.

This new service builds upon the notion of a library ‘without walls’, a phenomena of increasing familiarity in our Internet-enabled world. Librarians participating in this pilot project will provide students with advice on how to navigate the complex world of the digital library using electronic journals, databases, Web resources, and electronic books. When appropriate, students will be referred to print and other resources at the libraries.

This pilot program, Librarians Without Borders, has been developed and implemented by the Outpost Services Team appointed by the Rutgers University New Brunswick Libraries Information Services Steering Group. This service is available at the Information Desk in the BCC, from April 8th through May 8th, Monday through Thursday from 11am-2pm and 7pm-9pm.
