Interlibrary Loan Services Introduces Web Document Delivery
The Interlibrary Loan Services departments on the Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark campuses will start delivering articles to library patrons over the Web beginning in July 2002.
Staff will use Ariel, the Research Libraries Group's software for Internet document delivery, to convert interlibrary loan articles to PDF files and deliver them to patrons through a customized Web interface. Patrons will receive email notification with instructions for retrieving their articles. Documents will be available for 21 days and can be viewed, read, printed, or downloaded.
Web document delivery makes efficient and reliable distribution of interlibrary loan articles possible. Delivery time will decrease, and patrons can read articles from the convenience of their desktops.
