NEW on Libraries Website: ProQuest Historical Newspapers: New York Times, 1851 - 2000

The paper of record has become far more accessible to Rutgers faculty, students, and staff thanks to a new Libraries acquisition - ProQuest Historical Newspapers: the New York Times.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers: the New York Times provides the full image of articles published in the New York Times from its first issue in 1851. It is searchable by keyword, subject, author, and article title and it includes illustrations and advertisements. ProQuest Historical Newspapers: the New York Times covers issues printed from September 18, 1851 to two years prior to the current year. For more recent coverage please use Academic Universe, another Libraries resource, that provides fulltext coverage from June 1, 1980, but does not include illustrations and advertisements.

Users should note:

• For photographs not visible because of copyright by the Associated Press, please try searching the AP Photo Archive also available on the Libraries website.
• The newspaper’s title changed from the New York Daily Times to the New York Times in 1858.
