IRIS now 'talks' with EndNote, ProCite, BookWhere

In the recent maintenance work on IRIS, the Rutgers University Libraries online information system, the Libraries implemented an upgrade that will save valuable time for researchers as they compile their bibliographies.

The Libraries enabled IRIS to communicate with other programs through Z39.50, a protocol that searches and retrieves information from remote databases. This allows users who have software such as EndNote, Procite, Reference Manager, or BookWhere to connect with IRIS and secure citations for bibliographic records of items at the Rutgers University Libraries.

For more information on this service feature, and for specific instructions on how to use it, please see Z39.50 Configuration for IRIS If you have questions about using Z39.50, please contact Ask A Librarian
