Alcohol Studies

The Center of Alcohol Studies Library houses one of the world's largest collections of research material dealing with the physiological, medical, psychological, and social aspects of the use of beverage alcohol. As part of the Rutgers University Libraries system, the Alcohol Studies monographs and journal titles are cataloged in IRIS, the RU Libraries online catalog. In addition, the Alcohol Studies Library maintains a database of important monographs, book chapters, journal articles, government documents, dissertations, conference papers, and audiovisual materials on all aspects of alcohol use and alcohol problems. While the main focus of the collections is on alcohol use, a growing amount of material related to other substance use/abuse has been added in recent years. Persons wishing to do in-depth research on other substance abuse will find additional material at the Alexander Library, for social issues, and the Library of Science and Medicine, for biomedical and psychological aspects.
