American National Business Hall of Fame: There are biographical profiles for only some of the laureates and fellows inducted into this Hall of Fame.

American Women Managers and Administrators: A Selective Biographical Dictionary of Twentieth-Century Leaders in Business, Education, and Government. Judith A. Leavitt. Greenwood Press, 1985. (DANA REF HC 102.5 .A2 L37): Covers more than 200 women who had significant accomplishments or were prominent in their professions or occupations.

Asiaweek Business Hall of Fame: Short biographical sketches of Asian business pioneers and leaders honored from 1994 to 1999. Unfortunately, Asiaweek Magazine ceased publishing in 2001.

Automotive Hall of Fame: The Automotive Hall of Fame, located next to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, honors "outstanding achievement in the automotive and related industries."

Biographical Dictionary of American Business Leaders. John W. Ingham. Greenwood Press, 1983. Four vols. (ALEXANDER, DANA REF HC 102.5 .A2 I53): Includes about 1,000 of the "historically most significant business leaders." All entries list other sources of information.

Canadian Business Resource: Executive Profiles: Dozens of thumbnail sketches of senior executives at leading Canadian firms. Based on the Blue Book of Canadian Business.

Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders: British History, 1700-1900.: Part of the Spartacus Internet Encyclopedia. Essays are grouped by industry e.g. textiles, railways.

European Automative Hall of Fame: "The Hall of Fame honors technical, managerial and entrepreneurial achievements in the automotive industry."

Foundations of Business Thought: Biographies: An eclectic collection of thinkers and writers (not all in business, economics, or management) that have contributed to an understanding of the fundamentals of business.

The Hall of Business: A part of the American Academy of Achievement; profiles include audio and video clips.

Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame: Since 1975, the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame has honored "men and women who have made outstanding contributions to free enterprise and to society." Brief profiles of honorees, listed in alphabetical order.

Management Hall of Fame: A list of the inaugural group of inductees into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Management Hall of Fame.

Mining Hall of Fame: Hall of Fame Database: This site honors outstanding Australians involved in all aspects of the mining industry: prospectors, entrepreneurs, executives, technogists, and others.

Offshore Innovators Hall of Fame: "The Hall of Fame recognizes those persons and technologies that took the [oil and gas] industry to sea."

Paper Industry International Hall of Fame: "The Hall of Fame was founded to identify, honor and enshrine those distinctive individuals worldwide who have contributed in a major way to the development of the paper industry and its technology."

The Plastics Academy's Plastics Hall of Fame: The original purpose of this Hall of Fame was "to recognize those living Americans who, through dedication, work and accomplishment have contributed most significantly to the growth and success of the plastics industry." Later, the concept was expnaded so that "industry greats" could be inducted posthumously.

People in Business and Industry in North America: Summaries of Biographical Articles in History Journals. Pamela R. Byrne and Susan K. Kinnell, eds. ABC-CLIO, 1988. (ALEXANDER, DANA REF HC 102.5 .A2 P46): 200 Canadians and Americans are included in this collection of summaries.

Tire Industry Association - Hall of Fame: "The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor, preserve and perpetuate the names and outstanding accomplishments of personalities who have brought lasting fame to the tire, rubber and transportation industries."

Toy Industry Hall of Fame: Toy inventors, designers, and industry executives honored by the Toy Industry Association since 1985.

CEO Compensation: This list from Forbes Magazine can be sorted by company, name, age, shares owned, or total compensation. Entries include brief biographical information.

Corporate Yellow Book: Who's Who at the Leading U.S. Companies. Monitor Leadership Directories. Quarterly. (DANA REF HG 4057 .A1 J646): Lists names of corporate personnel through the vice-president level plus the board of directors, and heads of divisions and major subsidiaries. Educational background of CEO included, as is affiliation of all directors.

Directory of Directors in the City of New York and Tri-State Area. Directory of Directors Co. Annual. (DANA REF HG 4058 .N55): Lists important executives in New York City and State, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with affiliations as officers, directors, trustees, or partners.

Dun & Bradstreet Reference Book of Corporate Managements. Dun & Bradstreet. Annual. (DANA REF HD 2745 .D85): Lists the officers and directors of over 2,400 corporations. Includes birth date, college attended, and career history. Arranged by company name with a personal name index.

Standard & Poor's Register of Corporations, Directors and Executives. Standard & Poor's. Annual. 3 vols. (DANA Reference Desk): Vol. 2 includes the addresses, education, fraternal memberships, and business affiliations of the major executives of over 27,000 companies.

Top Management: Provides business affiliations of corporate executives in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

U.S. Registry's Who's Who in Leading American Executives. Who's Who in Leading American Executives. 1993-1994. (DANA REF HD 38.25 .U6 U18): Covers mostly executives at smaller firms.

Compact D/SEC. Thomson/Disclosure, Inc., 1986- . Monthly updates. (DANA REF CD-ROM): Proxy extracts give names, ages, and compensation for corporate officers and directors. Stock holdings of corporate insiders are also provided.

Academy of Accounting Historians Individual Membership Directory: An alphabetical list of members with areas of research interest noted for each entry.

Academy of Management Leadership Directory: Only officers and committee members of its various divisions are listed here. Access to the general membership directory is restricted to AOM members.

International Directory of Business and Management Scholars and Research. Harvard Business School Press, 1995. 2 vols. (DANA REF HF 1101 .I56): Profiles include major publications and areas of research interest.

International Directory of Finance and Economics Professionals: This online directory is not very complete but useful, nonetheless, for locating academicians. The database is searchable by name, and entries include research interests.

On-line Accounting Faculty Directory: Based on Prentice-Hall's Accounting Faculty Directory, this online database is searchable by name, school, and state; entries include recent publications and research interests.

Who's Who in International Business Education and Research. Edward Elgar, 1999. (DANA REF HF 1106 .W584): This hefty volume was published with the assistance of the Journal of International Business Studies, and includes information on 150 leading scholars and practitioners.

Worldwide Directory of Finance Faculty: This directory is jointly sponsored by the Ohio State Department of Finance and the American Finance Association. Profiles include links to personal and official homepages, where available.

AICPA Business and Industry Hall of Fame: "The Hall of Fame will honor the contributions of outstanding individuals working in business and industry and promote the CPA as the premier professional designation."

Accounting Firms and Practictioners. American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Biennial. (DANA REF HF 5616 .U5 A15): Lists names and business addresses of members.

Accounting Hall of Fame: Members of the Hall of Fame are listed by name and by year of induction. Profiles include educational and employment history.>

The Ad Men and Women: A Biographical Dictionary of Advertising. Edd Applegate, ed. Greenwood Press, 1994. (DANA REF HF 5810 .A2 A3): Each essay is followed by a list of works by and about the individual, as well as notable corporate clients or ad campaigns that were associated with him or her.

Advertising Hall of Fame: "The Advertising Hall of Fame is the most prestigious award bestowed in the advertising industry honoring individuals who have set the standard for advertising excellence." From the American Advertising Federation.

Consultants & Consulting Organizations Directory. Janice McLean, ed. Gale Research, 1982- . Annual. 2 vols. (DANA REF HD 69 .C6 C647): A vast directory of consulting firms in all areas, including business services, economic research, management, marketing, quality control, real estate, and sales. Among its various indexes is one for principal executives and consultants.

D&B Consultants Directory. Dun & Bradstreet, 1998- . Annual. (DANA REF HD 69 .C6 D86): This large volume lists more than 30,000 firms alphabetically, with an index for consulting specialty and another by location.

Directory of Management Consultants. Kennedy Publications, 1990- . Biennial. (DANA REF HD 69 .C6 I57A): Lists management consulting firms with their key principals.

Institute of Management Consultants USA: Members listed by last name.

H. Economics

American Economic Association Online Directory of Members: This online directory covers current members of the AEA. The database is searchable by name, and entries include research interests as classified by the JEL system.

All Prize Winners in Economics: Autobiographies of the receipients of the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, from the Nobel Foundation website.

Biographical Listing of Members (supplement to American Economic Review). American Economic Association. Every four years. (ALEXANDER, DANA Periodicals): Presents academic and employment history as well as area of research for members. Includes indexes by field and academic affiliation.

History of Economic Thought: Alphabetical Index: Substantive biographies of most leading economists from the greeks to the present.
