Communication and Media Studies Focused Indexes and Databases
ComAbstracts [Rutgers-restricted Access]
This database is part of a system of electronic databases and textual and research resources
provided by the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship, a not for profit organization based
at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It contains abstracts of articles published in primary
professional literature of the communication(s) field covering over fifty core journals. Dates
of coverage vary depending on individual journal title.
ComAbstracts is updated at intervals throughout the year with both older and newer materials.
Communication & Mass Media Complete (CCMC) [Rutgers-restricted Access]
This database combines CommSearch (formerly produced by the National
Communication Association on CDROM and also in paper copy as Index to
Journals in Communication Studies through 1996) and Mass Media Articles
Index (formerly produced by Pennsylvania State University). CMMC offers
full text for over 200 titles and contains citation coverage for
additional sources. As in most EBSCO databases, there is a 12 month
embargo for the latest issues. CMMC is available through December, 2004
on a trial basis.
