Federal, State, and University Education Databases
The government agencies at both the Federal and State levels have created many resources useful
for educators. The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) has existed since 1966, with
clearinghouses devoted to gathering, indexing, and making available information on subjects
needed by educators.
This vital service has been transformed by the present Administration to a content management
database with full text of documents and links to journal articles. Clearinghouses have been
adopted by universities and other institutions; the URLs for the new locations are included on
this page.
Look at the following
link to get an overview
of the ERIC system, trace the legislation and action taken on this service, as well as finding
out how you can be active in the maintenance of the ERIC system . The presentations of new
education information management systems, "What Works", and "Evidence Based Education" are
included as links on this site.
