Pedagogical Language Usage Server (PLUS)
Also known as the Dictionary of Education PLUS. Via a novel exploitation of optical character resolution (OCR) to capture the verbatim text of researchers' explanations of education-related terminology, coupled with the powerful navigational features of hypertext, Dr. Frederick L. Goodman and his colleague, John Miller, under the sponsorship of the American Educational Research Association, are attempting to offer, for terminology covered in a subset of the foremost scholarly education journals, the “...multiple defining passages...that help inform readers of [a given term's] richness and complexity; [to] allow users to see how people writing in different kinds of journals tend to converge on the meaning of a term.” (Introduction to the Dictionary of Education, http://macweb.soe.umich.edu/plus/intro.html)
