Guides to Research

Despite the length of this present guide, it only scratches the surface. For extensive coverage of research materials, see the following bibliographies.

**Literary Research Guide: A Guide to Reference Sources for the Study of Literatures in English and Related Topics. 5th edition.
The most current, complete, and valuable work of its kind. Compiled by James Harner for the Modern Language Association, it is a treasure trove of all kinds of helpful sources, from the well-known to the obscure. Harner's annotations are detailed, analytical, and critical. Your best bet.
