Cover all periods in North American history. Indexes articles written since 1964 in over 2,000 journals.

Black Thought and Culture [Rutgers Restricted]
Articles, correspondence, interviews, speeches, etc. by major figures in African American life and culture.

Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) [Rutgers Restricted]
A nearly comprehensive collection of the works published in English during the eighteenth century.

Historical Abstracts [Rutgers Restricted]
Covers all continents, except North America, from 1450. Indexes articles written since 1955 in over 1,700 journals in more than fifty languages.

Historical Statistics of the United States [Rutgers Restricted]
Data on all aspects of American history from colonial times to the present

Academic Search Premiere (EBSCO)
An extensive, multidisciplinary database with a majority of the articles available in fulltext. Includes both popular and scholarly publications.

Wilson Onmifile
Covers a wide range of disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Includes some fulltext.

Fulltext Primary Resources

African-American Newspapers [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of six newspapers from the antebellum period.

AMICA Library [Rutgers Restricted]
An image database with tens of thousands of works of art from most of the major art museums in the United States.

American Periodical Series [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of articles in 1,100 American journals and popular magazines published between 1740 and 1941.

Declassified Documents Reference System [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of previously classified documents declassified by the federal government. Covers 1941 to approximately six years prior to the current year.

Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans 1639-1800 [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of every work published in the American colonies or the United States between 1639 and 1800, over 36,000 works in total. The records of all of these works are included in IRIS, so it is often more productive to search there, rather than in the index itself.

Early English Books Online (EEBO) [Rutgers Restricted]
Approximately 125,000 titles printed in English between 1645 and 1700. The records of all of these works are included in IRIS, so it is often more productive to search there, rather than in the index itself.

Ethnic NewsWatch [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of articles from more than 200 community and ethnic newspapers across the United States. Coverage begins in 1960 and includes both Spanish and English publications.

Hein-Online [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of articles in the major North American law reviews, usually going back to the first issue.

New York Times [Rutgers Restricted]
The fulltext of the Times from the first issue in 1851 to two years prior to the current year.

North American Women's Letters and Diaries [Rutgers Restricted]
The personal writings of American women from all classes and walks of life, from colonial times to 1950.

Oxford English Dictionary Online [Rutgers Restricted]

Periodicals Index Online [Rutgers Restricted]
Indexes articles that appeared in approximately 3,600 journals in the humanities and social sciences published between 1770 and 1995. Most of the coverage is from the twentieth century and at present only 150 or so of the titles are in fulltext.

TV NewsSearch: Vanderbilt Television News Archive [Rutgers Restricted]
Abstacts of evening newscasts from ABC, NBC, and CBS and other news programs. Online clips are available for some stories. Videotapes of others can be requested for a fee. Coverage begins in 1968.
