Indexes and Databases

The indexes listed below can be used to locate articles, essays, documents, reports, and other sources of information in the field of political science. Many indexes will provide only citations and abstracts for sources, although some electronic indexes provide full-text. To locate an article or essay from a citation in an index, click on the "Article Linker" link. Article Linker will provide a link to the fulltext of the article, if available, or a link that will open a new browser and search in IRIS for the journal in which the article appeared. If neither a paper nor fulltext version of the article is available from a Rutgers library, you may request a copy from another library through Interlibrary Loan Services.

Each section of the list below is divided into four subsections. The first subsection lists indexes specific to the discipline of political science, including titles such as ABC Pol Sci. The second subsection lists indexes to government publications from the U.S. government as well as foreign governments and international organizations such as the United Nations. Indexes to popular magazines, newspapers, and other current events and news sources are listed in the third subsection, followed by indexes covering scholarly literature in other disciplines related to political science and interdisciplinary indexes.

Additional indexes beyond those listed here can be found by consulting the RU Libraries Indexes and Databases page, and the Selective Guide to Indexes and Abstracts in Alexander Library.
